I'm having problems with the Bulk Uploader

The first step to try if you experience a problem with the Photobucket site is to ensure that both your operating system and browser are up-to-date. The second step is to try a different web browser. Photobucket recommends trying the Firefox browser, if you are not already using it. You can download and install it from www.firefox.com.

Third, make sure JavaScript/Active Scripting is enabled in your Internet browser settings or the link to the Bulk Image Uploader is not available. See the topic Enable JavaScript in your browser for instructions.

The Bulk Image Uploader is a Java applet and uses the Java program already installed on your computer. It is possible that there is a problem with the current Java installation on your computer or the Java program is not up-to-date. Go to http://www.java.com/, and click the Do I have Java? link to verify your current installation and version. If an update is recommended, follow the instructions provided to update the Java program on your computer. After you verify and update the Java version, try the Bulk Image Uploader again. If the error icon displays in the lower left corner of your browser page, click (or double-click) the error icon to display additional information.

The Adobe Flash Player is required for many of the functions of the Photobucket site including the Bulk Image Uploader. Go to the Adobe download site to download and install the current version.

Some firewalls can be configured to block the transfer of digital content from your computer. Check all firewall settings to ensure that you do not have digital images blocked. If possible, temporarily disable your firewall to try a Bulk Upload to your Photobucket account. After the test is done, re-enable the firewall! If the Bulk Image Uploader functioned properly when you disabled the firewall, a setting in the firewall is preventing the Bulk Image Uploader from functioning properly with the firewall enabled.

The first time you use the Bulk Image Uploader, you are prompted to ”trust” the application. If you choose to ”not trust” the application, the Bulk Image Uploader does not function properly, and you may see “trust” errors when you try to use it.

  1. Close all browser windows, including File Explorer, My Documents, My Computer, etc.
  2. Open a new browser window.
  3. Log into your Photobucket account.
  4. Go to the album where you want to upload the images.
  5. Click the bulk uploader link. The “trust application” message displays again.
  6. Choose the always trust option.

If you do not see the “trust” message after you restart your browser:

See Upload with the Bulk Uploader for more details.
